1. Indirect Object Pronouns: Reviewed what they are and how to use them - See page 199.  We finished our first handout, begun on Friday.  Then we did WAVA - Act. 9 and finally a NEW handout, "Prueba Indirect Object Pronouns".  We did this as a practice - not a quiz as it's name implies.

2. El IMPERFECTO - We corrected the TAREA (WB77 & 78) and then took our quizzes - Conjugations of the Imperfecto & Spelling Test on the Time Expressions for the Imperfecto.
After the quizzes we went over them and corrected them together.


Tarea:
1. WB 79 - Indirect Object Pronouns.
2. Partner Oral Handout: Communication Activitiy 4A-1.  Answer the 6 questions on BOTH sides of the handout (12 questions in all) and be ready to share about your childhood tomorrow in class.

1. New WAVA packet -Both 4A & 4B = We did listening activities 5 & 6.

2. INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS: See pg. 199.  I introduced them showing examples, we read the Gramatica box on pg. 199, Watched the Gram Activa & did the "Quiz" and then wrote out Act. 22, pg. 199.  We ALSO got a handout with practice exercises and notes on how to use them.

3. Progress Reports: I gave out Progress Reports and then reviewed what a SMART GOAL is and how to write one; Write a sentence for each aspect of S.M.A.R.T.- explaining that aspect of your overall goal. We wrote our draft one in class. 
S = Specific goal
M = Measurable (used data to measure your level of success - use the % on our Overall
grade, your Homework Average, your In-Class Performance and/or your Test Average).
A = Attainable (How this is a realistic goal for you to accomplish and why)
R = Relevant (How this goal supports your achievement in Spanish Class)
T = Time-bound (By WHAT DATE will you have accomplished this goal?)

(B) Green Packet - went through STUDY POINT #6 = Irregular forms (see page 196 in text).  (C) Block 3 watched the Gram Activa and did the activities.

Tarea:
1. STUDY the IMPERFECTO TIME EXPRESSIONS - be ready for a recognition quiz tomorrow.  These are the expressions in Part B of your White Handout - BOTH the ones in #1 & #2.
2. Lotería - El imperfecto.  Prep this for play - with BILINGUAL ANSWERS - use the "USED TO" MEANING.

2. Working with our partners we: (A) read an article about the use of VOS in Latin America - and a few other anomalies of Spanish use.  (B) Peer - review of homework
3. Corrected/reviewed homework together - Ex. 2, pg. 81 - word families based on pg. 80 vocabulary; WB 51 & 52 - vocabulary in context of Human Rights issues.
4. Watched another "chunk" of La historia oficial - Alicia is in the confessional talking about her own childhood, living with her grandmother and feeling abandoned by her parents.

Tarea:
1. WB53-54 - Using impersonal expressions with: the subjunctive/indicative/infinitive.
2. Lotería - el gobierno (in the vocabulary packet you got on Monday).
3. Texto: Ej. 3 (pg. 81) & 6 (pg. 82) - DO go to the Amnestía International page to look for ways in which women suffer repression around the world.

1. Listening comprehension: Mi pasado - I shared photos and shared stories of me growing up while students filled in a chart about how old I was, where I was living , what I was like, what I liked doing at that time in the past. 
2. We made observations about the "OTHER PAST TENSE - EL IMPERFECTO" and then went to pp. 194 & 196 in the textbook to read more about this.
3. NEW PACKET (Verde) - El Imperfecto: We worked through the study points on the first two pages and practiced the REGULAR forms in PRACTICE A.
4. We watched the VIDEO HISTORIA and then read it aloud with a partner - pp. 188-189.  Next we wrote out answers to ACTIVIDAD 3, Comprendiste?
5. We corrected last night's homework in the workbook and then ADDED TWO more items onto the VOCABULARY LIST:
 #38 = La mascota / the pet
 #39 = ofrecer/to offer
Tarea:
1. Finish the 4A cards - with #s38 & 39 (see above)
2. Workbook pages 73 & 74

1. Energía solar/eólico - Amada
2. We started going over Texto A - but gave yet another day as many students had not yet prepared it well enough.  Remember to anticipate needing to know unfamiliar words in the text.
3. Los Derechos Humanos - Ej. 3-1: Students did a good job reviewing the important elements of the United Nations' Declaration of Human Rights.
4. We went over the answers to the questions regarding the background of the Guerra Sucia.
5. La historia oficial: I handed out the study packet, reviewed some vocabulary and then we began watching the movie.  We ended with the scene where Ana just told Alicia about children being born in the detention centers.
Tarea:
1. Libro de texto, pg. 81 - Ej. 3-2
2. WB51 y 52: que sepan el vocabulario a lo alto de la página.
3. Paquete de la película - start filling in the character graphic organizer and answer as many of the questions as you can based on what we've seen.

1. Warm-up: Answering questions about what we've done this week - using the regular and irregular preterite verbs & chores vocabulary.
2. "Pruebas" - We used the text's quizzes over the regular and irregular preterites as practices.
3. Tarea: Corrected last night's homework = crossword puzzle.  As it turned out the sub mixed up the two partner orals so yesterday you did in class the one I meant as homework.
4. Took the 3A Vocabulary Test.
Tarea:
1. Lotería - Irregular Preterites: Answer in BOTH Spanish and English filling-in the squares by matching the columns from above to the ones below.
2. Irregular Preterite Packet (rosado) - We started this in class last Thursday: Exercises B & D (1a-7b)
3. Please BRING your 2-sided PRETERITE QUESTIONS handout from last Friday.

4. Got Movie Permission Letter for next unit's movies.

5. Explained about the partner oral due tomorrow - based on your conclusions from the questions on the first page of the packet and the visual you and your partner create.  Visual - NO larger than an 8 1/2 X 11 inch piece of paper - to fit under the document camera.  Each partner does and equal amount of preparation and an equal amount of speaking: 3 minutes per partner.

Tarea:
1. Movie Permission Letter Signed - Due by Friday, May 10th.
2. Prepare your oral on Solar & Wind Energy - specifically how it relates to Oregon.

1. Listening Comprehension (WAVA 3A packets form Monday).  Activities 7 & 8

Homework while students listened & worked.
2. Partner Orals= Seat Partners.  Students to write in the answers and papers WILL be collected.
3. Homework Correction –  (1) Workbook pages 55 & 57 –  (2) Handout: Práctica con los verbos.
4. Direct Object Pronouns – NEW white handout. Distributd the handouts to the students and led them through each step.  USED my PROMPTING QUESTIONS attached to my key to review Direct Object Pronoun presentation from Monday.
5. Got started on their TAREAS/Homework:
    1. 3A Crossword = GREAT PRACTICE  for Wednesday’s VOCABULARY TEST.
    2. Partner Oral 3A-2 = Write answer in FULL SENTENCES on A.
    3. STUDY GUIDE for FRIDAY’s 3A EXAM.  Fill-in Friday’s Date (5/10) on form; then mark down how long they do each of the study practices every day.

Thanks to Sra. Duca for subbing while I was with my husband for his follow-up doctor's appointment.
 
1.  Warm-up: Tema 2B - Tarea de repaso de la gramática.  Worksheets, correction on #7 - change verb to the same forms of ser from haber.
2.    Students write out the FUTURE sentences from the prompt under the document camera.
 & Stamped Tarea –
3. Correct the homework Subjunctive Packet Ex. C: 2,5,7,9,10,11,12, 15 & Ex. D: 1,2,4,7,10-13,15-18,21,22,24,25
4. Partner Oral – Debating/Convincing someone: Students get into “Spain Appointment Partners” – “Don Quijote”.  Each partner received a different color handout A=yellow, B-Blue.  Asked them to look for opportunities to use the subjunctive/indicative/infinitive constructions as they debate Drugs and Unemployment.
5. Distributed the packets Tecnología medioambiental (about Solar and Wind energy).  Used my ‘demo’ packet to show the picture of the “Wind Park” to explain Energía eólica.  Then students READ  (1) the Contextualización & Lengua (2)“el vocabulario”; Next, with their partner – (3) orally answered the questions (4) started planning their presentation & poster for the class on Thursday.
6. If time permits, have them begin the Texto A – Casa prefabricadas ecológicas.

Tarea:  STUDY for the Unit 2 Exam TOMORROW – BOTH Lessons A & B.  There is a POST on the BLOG with LOTS of links to practice sites – I posted this on Monday.
